Do you like freight damage? Neither do we. Learn why we’ve ditched round pails.
We’ve Gone Square!
Over the past two years SA Performance has made the shift to 20-liter square pails, instead of the traditional 5-gallon round pail, and the feedback from our customers is an overwhelming THANK YOU.
Here’s Why We Made the Switch
1. The 20-liter squares pack tighter on a skid, with less open space between stacked pails. This means less potential for shifting or leaking during transport. Once our squares are neatly packed on the skid, we triple band them – significantly reducing the risk of damage, during rough transport conditions.
Feedback from the field has shown us that even the best round pails are susceptible to damage when lift drivers are not careful, and skids get battered around the terminal during transport. This “battering ram” effect tends to egg out the lid’s seal, which can cause leaking from the round pails.
2. Our new 20-liter squares have a 63 mm pour spout with a tamper evident locking cap – versus a large round lid. Simply put, there is significantly less opportunity for leakage from the pour spot, and service techs have reported more ease in pouring oil from the square’s ergonomic design.
3. Additionally, we can ship more gallons per skid. Our squares can be securely packed at 48 to a skid, versus 36 round pails per skid – reducing overall freight cost per gallon. We call this a win-win!
At SA Performance, we are continuously looking for ways to improve the customer experience, while providing the best compressor lubricants available to the aftermarket. If you have any questions, or feedback please contact us today, we’d love to hear from you.
